A VERY FIRST ALPHA test release of LiveCD/DVD based on Scientific Linux 
5 Alpha is now available for download.

Scientific Linux 5alpha LiveCD/DVD can be downloaded from

Packages included:
- Kernel 2.6.18
- Xorg 7.1
- ALSA sound lib 1.0.12
- KDE 3.5.4
- Gimp 2.2.13
- Evolution 2.8.0
- Openoffice.org 2.0.4
- K3b 0.12.15
- Firefox 1.5.0.8
- Thunderbird 1.5.0.8
- Gnome 2.16.0 (DVD only)

Remarks:
- On the SL5 Alpha LiveDVD all Client/Workstation RPMs (except some
   devel packages) are installed. Gnome is the default windows manager.
- On the SL5 Alpha LiveCD KDE is the default windows manager.
- For the moment there are no 64bit SL5alpha LiveCD/DVD available.

Hope these LiveCDs are useful for people which want to test SL5 Alpha 
without installing it.
