Hi,
I was recently asked the question "which laptop should I buy if I want to run
linux on it?"
I do not have recent experience, but for the laptop I'm currently running
linux on, I had to and did solve the issues with the
      o display driver
      o wireless driver
and o suspend to RAM functionality.

With out any recent experience, I can only recommend (but not a _strong_
recommendation b/c of lack of recent experience) a laptop with
      o nvidia graphics
      o intel wireless

But if anyone out there has purchase a laptop within the last 9 months or so
and runs linux and can suspend to RAM, please let me know which laptop you
have.

Thanks,
Ron
