It's *in* the 2.6.9-42.0.3 kernel, or are you wanting a newer version?

$ rpm -qf 
/lib/modules/2.6.9-42.0.3.ELsmp/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/ipw2100.ko
kernel-smp-2.6.9-42.0.3.EL.i686

Don't forget that you need to have the firmware to go with it, which is 
also in the distribution

$ rpm -qa | grep ipw
ipw2200-firmware-2.4-14.noarch
ipw2100-firmware-1.3-5.noarch
$
