Well, it's actually still ok.  I watched the debug output's, and it 
actually runs the kill script on startup.  From what I could tell it goes

Start Script
Kill Script
Start Sctip
   Actually run Thunderbird, then on exit
Kill Script

So, even if we put it on the kill script side, for some reason, it still 
get's run.
