Hello

I have installed SL4 with the kernel 2.6.9-34.0.2.ELsmp on an Asus W2J
Laptop
with more or less success (I cannot get the sound)

These last days I tried a

"yum upgrade"

I got a new kernel 42.0.2.ELsmp
on which it is impossible to make the network card be recognized

I followed the same way as for the previous kernel :
installing the kernel-module-r1000-2.6.9-42.0.2.ELsmp-2.2-1.SL4x.i686.rpm

I get the following error message
"Le périphérique eth0 a une adresse différente de celle attendue,
opération ignorée."
when I try to install the Realtek card with system-config-network

My questions are :
1. what kind of address is expected ?
2. where to look to get the current address ?
3. why the new kernel behaviour is different from the previous one ?

thanks
