In mean time people have used these successfully on 4
different laptop types too at CERN ..

Most of the time people were seeing problems was when
the 'rfkill' switch was left by Windows driver in
'on' state on reboot: usually it was enough to go to
the BIOS and set the 'rfkill' to be permanently off.
