Hello All,

how can a *user* install additional dictionaries for Thunderbird (SL3) ?

Although the Thunderbird/Extention Manager tells the user that a new
dict. is installed successfully it is not since there is no write access
to the myspell directory:

/usr/lib/thunderbird-1.5.0.7/components
ls -l | grep myspell
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 35324 Sep 18 13:59 libmyspell.so
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Sep 24 12:25 myspell

As root I changed the permissions of the myspell directory to '1777'.
Then it works.
However an unfriendly user now could fill up a system partition.

Is there a better way to fix the problem, also transparent for future
thunderbird version upgrades ?

  Greetings, Thomas.
