I think Fedora Core works pretty well with the mac-mini but it took
some work that came after the Sci-Lin <RHEL-4> went gold.

If you want to experiment and play then the mac-mini is a good choice.
[Not sure you will get much help from other people because the
hardware may not be in the hands of people who have time to do this.]

If you want to less fuss and 'have it mostly work' the Dell refurb.
