I have at least one system running stock gnupg (SL4.3) and enigmail
0.94.1 (gnupg=1.2.6-6, this one did not require the extra .1) and one
using 0.94.1.1 with SL3.05 (again using the stock gnupg 1.2.1-17).  It
may be there are subtle problems that I have yet to notice, but nothing
serious.
