I'm just starting a download to test (I'm assuming that it lives in
40rolling for the moment...)

Can anyone whop has already tried this tell me if it fixed the problems
with the radeon xorg driver freezing the machine (at least on Dell gx620
machines with ATI X600 cards)?

With the SL43 installer on such boxes the installer freezes the machine if
run in graphical mode, and while one can install using text mode that is
missing lvm functionality (like the ability to create or edit volume
groups)... Of course once installed the SL43 xorg will still cause the
machine to freeze (shortly after one logs in oddly enough!)

Tusv has had several reports which seem to indicate a bug in either xorg
or just the way that the newer gcc compiles it...

   https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=176826
not yet closed, but it refers to
   https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5853
  which is closed

The new xorg in update 4 mentions fixes to the radeon driver, but don't
say if this is one of the problems fixed or not.
