Just a quick heads-up for things we have seen with the 3.0.8 quarterly
update:
* new autofs tries to do a "service autofs restart" in the postinstall.
If you have actively-used NFS automounts at that time, the service will
not shut down cleanly and will also not come back up. To fix: shut off
the processes and manually unmount, or "umount -l" the offending
mountpoints, then restart autofs manually. Or reboot.
* g++-3.2.3-56 -W -Wall complains violently about unused parameters in
some system header files like
/usr/include/c++/3.2.3/bits/locale_facets.h, to the point where we are
considering to go back to the previous version (this apparently hits a
lot of users).
* the freetype library had some issues with TTF fonts, we noticed this
via some PHP code/broken imagemaps. An updated version of freetype is
available and fixes this.
(we've opened calls on all of these)
regards
jan
