Fedora Core 4 isn't really venerable - it will have more recent kernel
versions and drivers than RH Enterprise.
(Fedora is of course designed to have a short lifespan, and to be at the
leading edge, not designed for long-term stability)

I think you firstly need to contact Adaptec here, and get their
recommendation on the driver release version, and any firmware updates
to that card. Do firmware first.

On Fedora 4:   modinfo aic7xxx gives version 7.0
