Somewhere the internet gods are having a great laugh. I disable SSL for
the LDAP connection and now there's no more problems with "bad"
accounts. Re-enable SSL, problem returns. It would seem that my LDAP
connections are subject to Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principal. What
could possibly be affected on a per-user basis by SSL versus non-SSL
LDAP connections and affect SL 4.2 but not FC5?

/me goes off to google up a ritual suicide howto...
