I've always had a problem with a clean/from scratch install not finishing
completely and the install just hanging in the final GRUB install/setup stage.
I have to do a second install, but the second time NOT `formatting' ANY of
the partitions. The second from scratch install finishes completely and I'm
fine from there on. This is with the SL 3.0.2 CD's as it is the only SL
release I've found that support XFS root partitions.
I have the /boot partition mirrored across 4 drives and the / partition
striped across another partition on each of the 4 drives.
