The clock should not advance faster than real time. The issues where I
have seen this happen, the system needed either a new motherboard or
at least an updated BIOS. The problem can also occur where the box has
been silently overclocked (the system manufacturer pushes a 3000 AMD
to 3200 or more.) though usually not by 100% but it is usually more
than the 7% you would think might show up.
