I have also seen some funny behavior during the last two update cycles.
I had to hand download firefox and update it since the gnome applet
reported it needed updating, but yumex found no update nor did yum.
Going to exactly the same ftp location that appears in
/etc/yum.repos.d/sl-errata.repo
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/42/$basearch/errata/SL/RPMS/
I find an update to the 1.0.7 version of firefox. The only (conscious)
change I made to anything is to add a gpgcheck=1 to the end of
/etc/yum.conf (is this not a desirable thing to have?). I did this
after the last cycle where I had to ftp the update over by hand and
found that the signature for checking was missing - I got it and checked
the signature which was fine and decided to include checking in the
usual updates.
Is the index stuff not getting updated?
