Hi All,
here are some first results (SMP systems only).
Ok:
o fresh kickstart install on hardware already supported by 4.2
o yum update from a fully patched 4.2
o AFS client; SELinux problems seem fixed upstream
Problems:
o the images in isolinux/ are stale (4.2 build)
o kickstart install on system w/ Marvell Yukon NIC fails
This is supposed to be supported by Update 3. Yet nothing on
the installation initrd knows about the device or the sky2 driver
(which is also missing from modules.cgz).
Compared to the one from CentOS 4.3, some others are missing well
(bnx2, megaraid_sas, qla2100, qla_2400). There are also differences
in the pcitable, pci.ids, module-info etc.
While I wouldn't care too much for the sky2, I think at least the
megaraid_sas driver will be needed for some quite common hardware to
be released during the life of 4.3.
Cheers,
Stephan
