I have included a "beta" of a Super Duper Rescue/Install cd based on this
release. It is located at
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/i386/images/SL/SL.boot.superduper.43.i386.iso
The md5sum file is also located there.
SL.boot.superduper.43.i386.md5sum
I have added systemrescuecd. It has(in addition to lots of other stuff)
gtparted which is a gui disk repartitioner. See the README file
on the iso image and as attached.
The "menu" system has changed. A newer version of syslinux/isolinux has
the ability to do "menus". A menu may call another menu. This allows
me to make a main screen which points to other menus of related items.
Please test this. Note that some programs just do not work with some
hardware. In particular the "speed" program does not work on all
hardware.
If you know of a good "rescue" image or "utility" that has a
"floppy boot image" and is freely redistributable then let me know
and I will see if it will work with this scheme.
No "support" intended nor implied for the SL.boot.superduper.43.i386.iso
other than packaging issues.

You can put this system on a CD or USB disk and boot it.
It's more or less designed for hard drive boot/rescue/
backup/maintenance!

It also includes the partition image program 'partimage'
which saves partitions in the ext2, ext3, reiserfs, jfs,

xfs <Linux filesystem, read-write>
The kernel is version 2.6.16 and has support for
IDE/SATA/SCSI hard drives.
