OK, thanks.  It's definitely named:

# /usr/sbin/lsof -i :42264
COMMAND   PID  USER   FD   TYPE  DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME
named   20851 named   24u  IPv4 3533743       UDP *:42264 

So why would named be using an extra port I
didn't tell it to use?  There's nothing in
the man pages, and again, the confif fiels don't
tell it to do this.
