After failing to install RHDS on SL 4.2 (also it doesn't run on CentOS, as it was said in
its mailing list) for C and C++ application development, I came across Sun Studio 11 which
supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and its components. So I thought to let the mailing
list know about it:

Overview: http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/cc/products/index.html

Page with download link:
http://www.sun.com/download/index.jsp?cat=Application%20Development&tab=3&subcat=Development%20Tools

It is available as a free download (202.1 MB) and I have downloaded and installed it
successfully on SL 4.2.

Some more details: It requires J2SE installed, the one SL 4 comes with (j2sdk package),
does the job.

I am sending attached a screenshot of the application itself running.
