Hmm . . .

I just did a net install to a dual Opeteron TYAN S2892 Thunder K8SE MB 
machine with no issues.  This board has the dual port BCM5704 chipset.  
I did a pxe boot using the standard system-config-netboot tool and 
installed the x86_64 distro.

At first I had some issues with the net instal,l but upgrading the boot 
server from SL 4.1 to SL 4.2 cured them.
