Hold on: There are some serious apt disadvantages:

- apt (for RPM, I'm not talking about Debian apt here)
  is not developped anymore since Mandrake took over
  Connectiva Linux ...

- apt is missing bi-arch capabilities (so cannot really
  be used on RH/FC for 64bit archs - x86_64/ia64 - unless
  ALL 32bit compatibility packages are removed ...
