In searching through the list (where I didn't find the error) and then 
through google, the only english message where I saw this had this to 
say.  This was on the PureFTP mailling list, dealing with the resume 
function in PureFTP.

"the problem was occuring when i accessed it through the firewall. in 
our local lan resume is working perfectly.

that firewall has antivirus / content scanning enabled and is doing the 
ftp, retrieves the file from pure-ftpd, scans it and then gives it to 
the client. that message is obviously from the firewall and not from 
pure-ftpd."

So it looks more like it's a firewall problem, and not a proxy problem.
But still let us know if you can actually access the files like I 
mentioned below.
