Hi,
I don't find it all that confusing. It's to save space. All of the
S.L. 3.x releases have the exact same source rpm's. What is the point
in making multiple copies of the same files. The other problem if we
had a separate srpm's directory for each release is that sometimes
something might get put in one, and not in another. The same points go
for S.L. 4.x.

There might be some debate about the obsolete and/or debuginfo
directories. Because something that is current in 302, can be obsolete
in 303. But it's nice to be able to just go in the same directory for
obsolete's and debuginfo.

We debated about hard linking them, but then thought about people
mirroring us, and alot of mirroring software understands soft links much
better than hard links. And then the mirrors would fill up.

No, you do not go to ./305/SRPMS/ you go to ./30x/RPMS/. This means you
always go to the *latest* SRPMS directory.
And ... all the srpm's for 304 are in that directory.
