Debian Stable has Nedit 5.5 and this version and the previous version
clash if run on the same Xserver breaking CtrlC, CtrlV in combination
please could we upgrade the Scientific Linux version to 5.5 in the next
release as this is very annoying. Also I find Nedit far better when
linked to motif than Lestif.

Unfortunately Nedit developers don't seem to distribute SRPM's

2004-10-13 - NEdit 5.5

    The NEdit team is pleased to announce NEdit 5.5.

    Improvements over NEdit 5.4 include:

        * Tabbed windows for working with multiple documents in one
window
        * Find and Clear buttons for the interactive search bar
        * Improved Latex & Python syntax highlighting patterns
        * Simpler configuration for auto-scrolling
        * Improvements to the macro language
        * Efficiency improvements and bug fixes

    Improvements over NEdit 5.5RC2 include:

        * Detaching tabs should now use the default window size for the
new window
        * Detaching/moving non-top tab does not change top tab.
        * Less confusing wording in the File->New XXX menu items

    See the ReleaseNotes file (included in the distribution) for more
details.

    Executables for a variety of platforms can be downloaded over http
or ftp. The source code is also available via http or ftp.
