Hi Peter - I've been using the kernel module rpms for EL.  you can find 
them at
http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/rhel4.html 
I've been using them for the old 2.6.9-5.0.5 kernel and now with the
2.6.9-11 without any problems.   There's a FAQ at
