Hello,

I seem to be having some annoying problems with system-config-network. I
was wondering if there is some other utility that would help me
configure my wireless when I move from place to place. I have an IBM
thinkpad T42 with ethernet (configured as eth0) and Intel PRO wireless
2200 (configured as eth1), and I use both routinely.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, but system-config-network
seems to mess things up when I move from place to place (between
ethernet to wireless to another wireless etc). For example, some times
for no apparent reason, it seems to have eth1 configured with the
ethernet hardware and so on. I usually have to play around with the
settings a bit in order to go back to the way it was before, and then
the connection gets established again (after much pain).

Am I doing something wrong, or are there bugs in system-config-network?
If so, am I better served learning how to do these things on the command
line? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!
Shri. This usually happens when I go to a new place from where the
wireless was working the last time.

PS: Stephan, Thanks for your suggestions. I was hoping that there would
be an easier way to get the Fn-keys working on the T42, but I guess as
you suggest, I will have to go through the google method sometime.
