I got it directly from the source now
(http://www.gnu.org/software/auctex/). I had to remove emacspeak 17,
then I could install auctex-emacs-11.55-1.fedora.noarch.rpm.

Using apt, I couldn't find auctex in Dries' repositories, neither for
RHEL4 nor for Fedora Core 1 through 4.

I think there should be a law against putting TeX/LaTeX together with
emacs without auctex.

Thanks, I found a suitable tin rpm that way.
