Disc1 is bootable. The others are not.

So did the first cd boot? If not what error did you get? Did you set
your bios to boot off of cd?

This images uses install files located "via the network". So you need a
place where you have the install files located. This could either be a
local mirror of ftp.scientificlinux.org 40/i386 area or the files on the
iso images located to a network area.
