You can network install from the first cd. If you read the options on the
bootloader when you boot the first cd you can type: linux askmethod
And then you can do a network install.

hi michael,
don't we need some sort of a operating system on the machine before we can
do this?

Have you tried just doing a network install via http or ftp?

Subject: problems with second disk of SL3.0.3
Hi all,
We are trying to install SL3.0.3 on a machine. We are using the Custom
install setting. After the first CD was read, it asked for the second
one.
For some reason, it keeps complaining that we are not putting in the
correct
CD. We have used CD's burned on two different machines. We checked the
md5sum for the downloaded image - it looks fine. We are checking the
md5sum
of the image as burned on the disk (it's taking some time).
Our CD drive is OK - we just checked it by reading disk1 again.
In any case, is it possible to setup a configuration where we only use
disk
1 for now. We can add in the other packages later (via network, for
instance).
