For the smp installations I:
1) Downloaded the iso images from
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40/iso/i386/
2) Mounted the images and transferred the contents to a local NFS
server
3) Copied the kernel + initrd.img to /tftpboot
4) PXE booted the target machines (an IBM HS-20 model 8678 blade with two
Xeon processors and an IBM HS-20 model 8843 blade with two Xeon EM64T
processors) and performed a full package installation
For the up installations I:
1) Burned the four iso images to CD's
2) Booted CD1 on the target machine (an ASUS P4P800 MB with a 2.6 GHz
Pentium). Installation proceeds through filesystem creation until
anaconda bugs out with the message about no such package
kernel-module-openafs-2.6.9-5.0.3.EL.
