Any of the Tyan, AMD chipset boards are great with SL. We have single
and dual processor Tyan Tiger, and Tyan Thunder S2882 Pro's that work
great with the latest SL.

They just work, no driver modifications, no kernel problems. We've been
running them for 6+ months now.

If you really want an Athlon 64, try a Sis chipset board. I've had good
luck with redhat enterprise with several Sis motherboards running
Athlon's and Athlon 64's.
