A good starting point for ALSA on RH/Fedora systems is Freshrpms.
http://freshrpms.net/docs/alsa/

I guess a good starting point would be the source RPMs from this site,
and build them on a Scientific Linux system.

(I use the Freshspms ALSA modules on a Fedora 1 system with great
success).
