Greetings folks,

Apt is one of the tools that brought me to Scientific Linux, as yum
still lacks a great many features that I like in apt.

Unfortunately, I've gotten the following error whenever I try to do an
apt-get update:

Release file did not contain checksum information

Some googling indicates this is a server side problem and I have no
control over it. I would prefer that apt have the checksums in order to
  ensure package integrity.

So, what gives?

Thanks in advance,

Shawn M. Jones
