The tg3 driver exists in the SL 6 i386 and x86_64 pxeboot initrd image

me@somewhere initrd-sl6-pxe.i386]# find . -name "*ko*" -print | grep tg3
./modules/2.6.32-71.el6.i686/kernel/drivers/net/tg3.ko.gz

Can you provide the lspci -n output of this card.
