It is assumed that anyone skilled enough to safely be able to take
care of their own updates would know how to disable the behaviour of
those updates being applied automatically.
chmod -x /etc/cron.daily/yum.cron

Those who aren't, won't, and will be better off for it.

And by the way John, I tried to send this to you directly, but
mx1.mailhop.org (your incoming mailserver) is trusting a malicious
blacklisting service, SORBS.  Please contact the administrators, and
ask them to cease discarding legitimate mail.
