It is a basic SL 6.5 (x86_64) test VM on an vSphere 5.0u3 cluster, nothing special, 1 vCPU with 1 core, 2GB RAM, 16GB HD

Removing and reinstall the 2.6.32-504.el6.x86_64 kernel but the ~20s delay persists, booting with the old 2.6.32-431.29.2.el6.x86_64 kernel shows no delay.

The strange part a fresh kick-started VM with the 2.6.32-504 kernel don't show the same issue.
