Hi Yasha,
I just use the RPM from atrpms and the following script.
First time through, change "upgrade" to "install".

Cmd="yum --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=atrpms* upgrade vlc"
echo "$Cmd"
su root -c "$Cmd"
