Hi,
I have some problems with the rsh service on Scientifc Linux distribution.

This is the distributed environment:

Machine1 = isc130l
Machine2 = isc129l

I’m trying install DB2 V9.1, this is a IBM database engine. The owner user of
database instance is db2inst1.

Linux distribution: Scientific Linux

I think that the problem is with rsh service on Scientific linux, because when I
test it, I get these messages:

[db2inst1@machine1 ~]$ rsh machine2 date
connect to address 157.253.42.39: No route to host
Trying krb4 rsh...
connect to address 157.253.42.39: No route to host
trying normal rsh (/usr/bin/rsh)
poll: protocol failure in circuit setup
[db2inst1@ machine1 ~]$
This message I get it with some command.

However, if I try to use only <rhs machine2> without the command "date" or
another one, I don`t have the problem.

[db2inst1@ machine1 ~]$ rsh machine2
connect to address 157.253.42.39: No route to host
Trying krb4 rlogin...
connect to address 157.253.42.39: No route to host
trying normal rlogin (/usr/bin/rlogin)
Last login: Mon Nov 20 17:32:15 from machine1
[db2inst1@ machine2 ~]$ date
Mon Nov 20 17:34:00 COT 2006
[db2inst1@ machine2 ~]$

I need to rsh works like the first one possibility…

Anybody have some idea?
Thanks a lot,
Angela Rojas
