I do not think a conserver will do what I want so I will explain what I am
doing in further detail. I have a radiation monitor that has a serial
RS-232 connection. We have already written a driver that will control this
device through serial commands and have been using it for some time.

Now we want to get away from the 100+ foot serial cables and would like to
implement a wireless solution. We have purchased a RS-232 to wifi adapter
for the radiation monitor. I would like to now have the driver work over
wireless. This way the driver would think it is sending commands to the
serial port, but the commands would be delivered to the IP address of the
wifi adapter. Then the only change to the driver is to change /dev/ttyS0 to
something like /dev/ptyp0.

Any suggestions on how this can be done?
