Hi KC,

Yes.  Most of them arn't recompiled specifically for S.L., but for RHEL 
compatible releases.  More information is at

https://www.scientificlinux.org/documentation/faq/yum.apt.repo

Those repositories are there for a convenience, not because they are 
supported by the S.L. developers.
And if any of those repository maintainers are reading, we thank you for 
the service you provide.  Thank You
