|Hi, I've got some problems when I power off my PC: when I power off the
|system after the kernel make all its job it appears: "POWER OFF" but the
|computer doesn't.
|I installed scientific linux 4.4 on a i386 with ASUS P5GD1 motherboard.

We've had some motherboards that did that.

It's telling you that you should power it off.

You should first see if there's a BIOS setting for
this.  If not, try thw following (from a quick
google search):

   This cured up on my home desktop system by making
   two changes. One was to add the kernel boot options
   "acpi=force lapic", as suggested above.

   The second change was to use "halt -p" or "poweroff"
   to shut down the machine.
