What options are available from the list ?
(Giving this list might provide us into some inside in what is going one.-

Most probable cause is lacking drivers for your sata controller.
This can be tested by going to the third console (Ctrl-Alt-F3 (F1 to go back) )
and typing lspci. Giving us this list would also help.
(I'm assuming this application is present on the SL-installation disk,
I'm however not sure of this)
(I'm also not sure if it's the third console, you can try others in case I'm wrong: F2,F4,...)
