OK, it's now in the bugfix area for S.L. 3.0.5.  I hope this isn't 
cutting it too close.  It was actually there yesterday I just couldn't 
get an e-mail out.

Update it by hand.

rpm -Uvh 
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/305/i386/errata/bugfix/RPMS/tzdata-2006a-1.EL3.noarch.rpm

Update it by yum

yum -c /etc/yum.conf.bugfix update tzdata
