Well I said how you should get libevent 2 but you didn't do it this way,
so I can't help you in "why your way doesn't work". I have no idea if
it's even supposed to work.
What you should do is:
erase libevent-devel libevent-headers libevent-doc (if any of them are installed)
install & enable postgresql 9.3 repo (write enabled=1 in repo file if needed)
install "libevent-devel"
You'll have libevent 2 and devel package installed after that, and
libevent-1.4 should be replaced by compat-libevent14 automatically.
