The short answer is yes (more see below).

Some kind of workaround -

You can install missing software at any time after the installation, for example with yum. Installing from DVD will give 
you more software than installing from LiveCD, but maybe the "key" software you need is still missing after the DVD install.

Concerning the configuration, it is hard to say, too. I never really compared it in detail. But my guess is that for 
your problem it doesn't matter.

Of course, only fresh install from DVD can prove this.
