|Hp lj 1020 is a usb port printer. I installed x86_64 4.3 with all packages.
|I did not do anything about the usb ports after the installation. Then I
|tried to configure the printer but could not manage. This release does not
|have the driver of the printer so I tried several other HP lj printers but
|never succeeded. Do you have any comments, or better, anybody using this
|printer under SL?

I haven't, but...

[This assumes you are using cups]

1) Try getting a PPD file from the HP site.
You should be able to import it via the
printer config GUI if you don't know how
   your printer subsystem works.
2) You might check if turboprint supports it.
Turboprint is an inexpensive package to
help manage printing on *nix. It works
great, and includes tools that really
help, like the ability to check ink levels.
I haven't seen those sorts of things
   anywhere in Gnome or KDE.
