I'd like to thank Stephan, Nico and Pat for their answers.

I do not think the package integrity is involved or the availability
of the mirrors. I think this is sth related, as Stephan suggest, to
sth wrong on the network path. It may be a filtering device of a
switch. I will continue to investigate and aks them to try with
HTTP.
