I do not use the input microphone built-into my laptop nor the
microphone input jack, and thus cannot comment on the microphone input.
Sound out works, although, depending upon both application and processor
load, it can get jerky. I have used the machine to play audio-video
DVDs using an external converter to NTSC for NTSC television input, as
well a video RBG inputs, and a direct link from the sound output to the
television audio input. The DVDs played flawlessly without visible or
audible jitter; note that this was the only application running at the
time. I do not own a HDTV (and thus cannot test HDMI, QAM, or ATSC
signals).
