Hello, We need to update the GPG keys in the release to include a Scientific Linux RPM signing key to sign the rpm's with. We will start using this instead of Connie or Troy's personal GPG Keys. We don't think that these updates will have any negative affect on systems, but we would like to test to make sure. Note 1: The yum-conf needs to be updated on SL4 and SL5 because the repositories list where the keys are, and the new Scientific Linux key is not listed. While updating the yum-conf's I put in a failover server ftp1.scientificlinux.org. That alias is currently just pointing to rsync.scientificlinux.org, but when we get our updated servers, it will be pointing to one of our older servers. Note 2: This need for a change is not because of a breakin, or one of our keys being compromised. We had planned on changing to this model of signing the rpm's for a while. Note 3: We would like to push these updates out to errata this Thursday, July 16, 2009 Note 4: For SL4 and SL5 I currently only have the yum-conf's updated. I will have the sl-release's out tomorrow. The yum-conf's have me more worried and I'd like them to be tested more. To test or update SL3 ------- Files Updated: sl-release yum -c http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/30rolling/testing/yum.conf update sl-release or you can download rpm's by hand at http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/30rolling/testing/i386/RPMS/release/ http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/30rolling/testing/x86_64/RPMS/release/ SL4 ------- Files Updated: yum-conf Because there is a different yum-conf for each release, you can't just point to the testing area, you will have to download the corresponding yum-conf for your release http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/ http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-40-11.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-41-11.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-42-6.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-43-6.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-44-2.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-45-2.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-46-2.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-47-2.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-48-0.2.rolling.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/40rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-4x-1-8.SL.noarch.rpm SL5 ------- Files Updated: yum-conf Because there is a different yum-conf for each release, you can't just point to the testing area, you will have to download the corresponding yum-conf for your release http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/5rolling/testing/release/ http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/5rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-50-4.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/5rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-51-2.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/5rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-52-3.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/5rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-53-2.SL.noarch.rpm http://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/scientific/5rolling/testing/release/yum-conf-5x-1-6.SL.noarch.rpm Thanks Stephan Wiesand Troy Dawson -- __________________________________________________ Troy Dawson [log in to unmask] (630)840-6468 Fermilab ComputingDivision/LCSI/CSI DSS Group __________________________________________________
